Spiritual Maturity is an ongoing process that begins after salvation. The process is characterized by Christlike character, discernment of good and evil, and steadfastness in faith.

According to our text, Jesus was crucified between two malefactors (criminals) on a rocky hill called Calvary. On one cross – we see Christ dying For Sin – On another cross we see a criminal dying In his Sin, and on the last cross we see a criminal dying To his Sin.

Today’s message – “Love One Another Fervently” tells us that: The Holy Spirit loved us and brought us to Christ. This same Spirit has planted within us a Love for the People of God.

In verse 13, Peter shifts to Motives for Living Godly Lives.  Salvation and Eternal Life is what motivates Believers to live Godly lives – Imitate Christ – Live for Christ.

Jesus died to Save us from our sin. There is no other means of Salvation. A person must come to Christ for eternal life.

1 Peter is a New Testament Epistle (Letter), specifically classified as a “General Epistle” or “Catholic Epistle.” Peter addressed this Epistle to the Jewish Christians scattered throughout Asia Minor who were suffering for their faith in Christ. 

The phrase “Blood of Jesus” is the expression of the sacrificial death and full atoning – to make right something that is wrong. The work of Jesus in our place and on our behalf.  

Prayer is having a personal relationship with God. It involves Communication with God.  Prayer is Praising God.

To Trust In The Lord means to believe His Word and obey Him. Trusting Jesus means committing ourselves entirely to Him.
