A new teaching was invading the Church at Colosse and causing great trouble. This new teaching downgraded Christ to being just some sort of Angel. Paul penned this letter to the Church at Colosse while a prisoner in Rome to a City he had never visited.
o “9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power” (Col 2:9-10).
